Sifco Mechanical, Inc., located in Sumter, South Carolina, is a family owned, full service, mechanical contracting firm specializing in commercial and industrial HVAC design/build projects in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia.  Additionally, Sifco provides commercial HVAC maintenance and service for customers throughout South Carolina.

Founded by E. H. Moses on August 4, 1890 as the Sumter Ice Manufacturing Company, Sifco is recognized as Sumter’s oldest continuing business enterprise.  In 1919, the Sumter Ice and Fuel Company was formed and subsequently became Sifco Industries in 1973.  In 1981, the heating and air conditioning division was incorporated to form Sifco Mechanical, Incorporated, and sold by the Moses family, to Robert A. Goff, P.E., in 1983. Robert Goff had been General Manager of the heating and air conditioning division since 1976.  His vision and focus was to honor Sifco’s rich history while advancing innovations and incorporating new technology in our industry.

Robert’s son, R. Allen Goff, Jr., joined Sifco in 1988. Allen is a 1986 civil engineering graduate of The Citadel, located in Charleston, South Carolina. Allen serves as President and manages all Sifco operations. 

Jefferson T. Howell, P. E. joined Sifco in 2016. Jeff is a 1977 mechanical engineering graduate of the University of South Carolina located in Columbia, South Carolina. Jeff serves as Vice President and manages Sifco’s design/build engineering operations. Jeff was a consulting design engineer for many years before joining Sifco.

Sifco Mechanical, Inc. currently consists of 41 dedicated employees, all of whom share the common commitment of providing quality service and workmanship in mechanical construction.  A strong family tradition is evident by recognizing the tenure of multiple generations of employees, some of which date back to the 1970’s. Sifco teams with a sheetmetal fabricator to form a team of more than 100 strong.
